What to Visit in Phuket  ?- Part 2

(Part 1 is on Page number 3)

Viewpoints (with easy access)

There are several viewpoints that are located on the road (so they are easy to reach) and with very beautiful view over beaches.

Karon Viewpoint

The viewpoint has a beautiful view over Karon beach. The road is very central, so you will surely pass here, just stop your motorbike and make a pause at the viewpoint. (You can visit the page about the beaches of Phuket).

Kamala Beach Viewpoint

Kamala is one of the best beaches of Phuket (north of Patong). The viewpoint is on the main road. (You can visit the page about the beaches of Phuket).

Laem Sing Beach Viewpoint

Very close to Kamala Beach Viewpoint. Less than 1 Km towards the north, on the road. (You can visit the page about the beaches of Phuket).

Windmill Viewpoint

The road is not central, you have to specially come here. Located in the southernmost point of Phuket. The viewpoint is near the road, no need to walk.

From this viewpoint there is a very nice view over : Yanui Beach + Nai Han Beach. (You can visit the page about the beaches of Phuket).

Cape Phrom Thep – Phra Phrom Square – A Viewpoint

Very close to the Windmill Viewpoint.

Also here there is a very nice view over the sea.

There is a shrine, with statues of elephants

And there is a tiny maritime museum inside a tower, just a few exhibits.

Sarasin Bridge

This is the bridge that connects the island of Phuket to the mainland. The bridge makes Phuket less of an island, but it is very convenient.
There is a part on the bridge that is specially built for tourists (by foot).

The view is nice.

There are also a few restaurants at the beginning of the bridge with a lot of sea food. A vegetarian like me can only eat rice here (more or less).

You can also visit the beaches before the bridge.

There is a view over the bridge.

Phuket Yacht Haven Marina

Located on the north-right side of Phuket, not far from Sarasin Bridge.

This is a place for rich people who are playing with Yachts. The entrance to the marina is free of charge. You need to park your motorbike outside the marina and arrive to the boat area with a free Buggy car service or by foot (just 8 minutes walk).

There is also a café-restaurant with view over the Marina. It is not a very touristic area, most tourists are visiting the south part of Phuket.

Shows + Water Park

There are a lot of shows for children + a waterpark (adults can also enjoy this stuff).

Andamanda Phuket – Water park

Located between Patong and the Old Town of Phuket.
Visitors are satisfied with this Waterpark. Read the opinion of visitors on Google Maps.

Siam Niramit Phuket – A Show

Located about 10 Km north of the Old Town of Phuket.

A show with dances and Thai culture. Visitors are satisfied with Siam Niramit Phuket. Read the opinion of visitors on Google Maps.

Phuket FantaSea

Located in front of Kamala Beach.

A theme park with a show (in the evening). Read opinion of visitors on Google Maps.

Phuket Crocodile Farm

Located near Wat Chalong Temple.

A show with crocodiles. Read the opinion of visitors on Google Maps.

Phuket Bird Park

Located near Wat Chalong Temple.

A zoo with birds and show with birds. Read the opinion of visitors on Google Maps.

Tiger Park Phuket

Located near Wat Chalong Temple and the Big Buddha.

A place where you can pet Tigers. Read the opinion of visitors on Google Maps.

Elephant Camps

There are a lot of elephants in Phuket. You will see elephants when you go to visit the attraction number 1 of Phuket, the Big Buddha. There is an elephant camp on the way up to the mountain of the Big Buddha and it is possible to ride an elephant or just take a picture with one.

There are elephant camps in Phuket that claim to be more ethical than others, by not allowing riding the elephants but only bathing the elephants. Read the opinion of visitors for each elephant camp, in order to know what to expect.

Waterfalls

Here is a list of waterfalls that exist in Phuket. Read the opinion of visitors for each waterfall, in order to know what to expect. There are waterfalls that are more easy to reach than others (there are waterfalls that require a small trek). Note also that during the dry season there may be no water in the waterfall.
Waterfalls are not a top attraction in Phuket, they are not particularly impressive and anyway the tourists prefer to visit the beaches, the shows and other attractions.

The 2 big Shopping Centers

Thankfully, there are 2 huge shopping centers (“malls”) in Phuket. They are as big as the ones existing in Bangkok. You can pass an eternity in them. They are air-conditioned and have a lot of shops and restaurants and cafés. One shopping center is located in Patong and the other near Phuket Old City.

Shopping Center in Patong – “Jungceylon

This shopping center is so big that it contains 3 shopping centers (with different names). The shopping center is located near the walking street, so very convenient to reach.

Shopping Center near Phuket Old Town – “Central Phuket Festival

Located just 3 Km to the left of Phuket Old Town (on the road towards Patong).

There is a lot of food in this mall, on several floors. There is also a Sizzler restaurant (with a great salad bar, suited for vegetarians like me).

And there is a parking for the motorbike

Phuket Mining Museum

This museum contains information about the mining industry in Phuket.
It is not a modern museum, it can not compete with a top level museum.

There are also exhibits of old objects that are not related to the mining industry

The old objects are nice. I have seen a lot of this stuff in other Thai museums, but it is always nice.

Is it worth to come and visit this museum ?
Don’t put it on the top of your list, but if you have extra time, why not ?

The building itself is nice

There are also some exhibits related to mining, outside the building

Entry price : 100 Baht (price at the time of writing).
