What to Visit in Koh Phangan ?
There are a lot of nice beaches in Koh Phangan. There are some viewpoints on hills and there are some waterfalls.
The best is to rent a motorbike and to visit the beaches along the road.
The Full Moon Party in Haad Rin Beach
Let’s start with this special event.
It happens each month, when the moon is in full shape. Tourists are arriving from the neighboring islands in order to participate in this feast. The hotels tend to get fully booked around this date, see page 2 – where to stay.
You need to buy a bracelet in order to enter the beach area on that day. The price is 200 Baht (at the time that I am writing).
It is very happy and nice on that night.
Many visitors are decorating themselves with temporary paintings and Tattoos
Fire plays on the beach
A lot of neon lights on the beach
Balloons with laughing gas
A lot of alcohol, especially in form of buckets
A lot of fast food

Beaches on the Upper-Left side
Let’s start from the main town Thongsala and take the road towards up, close to the sea. A travel clockwise on the island.
You can continue with the road till the top corner of the island (about 14 Km). Then around Haad Khom Beach, there is a mountain and no more road. In order to arrive to the next beach on the right (Bottle Beach), it is necessary to make a detour via another road, so you will probably make it on another day.
Wok Tum Canal View Point
This is a nice place between Thongsala town and Hin Kong beach (2 Km north of Thongsala).
You see the place, when you travel on the beach road. Just park your motorbike and visit the small pier.
Calm and photogenic.

It can seem impressive from some angles
The beach itself is also beautiful
It is a long beach with several bars, right beside the water. It is advised to arrive here especially at sunset.

When I visited, the sea was high and I just enjoyed the beach.

So this waterfall belongs to the second category.
You walk a little bit from the entrance
And you arrive to the waterfall
